History, beauty, but above all elegance, a few words to describe this world’s icon of hospitality, that has always attracted guests from all over the world looking for authentic experiences, with an allure of other times of Italian style.
The history of Villa d’Este begins in 1568, when Tolomeo Gallio, Cardinal of Como, commissioned the construction of a sumptuous villa on the lake, destined to become one of his summer residences. But it was more than 300 years later, in 1873, that Villa d’Este was transformed into a luxury hotel, and then became a destination of excellence for personalities of cinema, music and art.
Villa d’Este is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, and is considered one of the most beautiful expressions of architecture of the mid-sixteenth century. It offers 152 rooms and suites divided between the Cardinal’s Building and the Queen’s Pavilion and 4 private villas. Villa Belinzaghi has recently been acquired, which will undergo a complete restoration.
There are also three restaurants and the famous heated floating pool on the lake.
This is a special year with a unique and ambitious goal: to celebrate its traditions and prepare for a new future.
